The new research building for the medical faculty of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen creates the infrastructural, logistical and economic prerequisites for further developing medical research operations. The direct vicinity to the Biomedical Research Center and the buildings of the Excellence Cluster Cardio-Pulmonary System (ECCPS), in conjunction with a very good connection to the hospital, will create a science center for medical research of outstanding supraregional importance.

The building concept is oriented towards the interaction between the highly qualified researchers. It provides not only closed areas, but also possibilities for relaxation as well as communicative, open areas for networking research groups. A multi-storey communication room forms the heart of the interdisciplinary network; meeting zones and lounges in this area create multifunctional spaces for informal and formal exchange.
